Sorry, lost track there for a minute.

Hi! I’m Katarina (you can also call me Kat, it’s cute). I am ECSTATIC that you’re here because that means you want to connect with me and you probably want to know more about our young, adventurous married couple who have (hopefully) endeared themselves to you. Or… if you’re plain curious about what they have to offer, it’s my hope that you stick around!

Because yes, I do in fact plan to write a prequel about them!

When I came up with this Halloween story, I wrote it having already introduced these characters in another standalone ‘mini-episode’ to a few readers I knew in real life. They seemed to like them, so I intended to write a short comedic episode about Kori wanting to drag her husband to a festive event and… trouble ensues.

BUT, next thing I knew while I was writing, things had… escalated. Suddenly, the stakes grew, there was more danger, and it just expanded to what it became. However, in the back of my mind, I had ideas floating around about them, their history, quirks, likes and dislikes… and then it only made sense to write their love story. I may have dropped some clues and Easter eggs here and there, but if you think you got them down… guess again!

This happens to be a big week because publication day for BEHIND THESE DOORS is January 31! So, I may send a couple more emails after this one but I promise that the frequency will be reduced to monthly updates! Once again, I’m honored that you’re here and please look forward to the full reveal of Kori and Mark’s character art on Wednesday!
